Your Guide to Madison in April

00:00:00

When the sun is shining and the birds are singing, you can be sure that Madisonians are out and about. Springtime in Madison is full of festivals and markets that have something for just about everyone.

Here’s a look at some of this year’s springtime offerings.

Apr. 14, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Barrymore

At this market, you’ll find vintage and collectible jewelry, art, furniture, and more. The event is free and refreshments will be available.

April 20 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Garver Feed Mill

Midwest Vintage Flea is Wisconsin’s largest vintage fashion trade show. It’s run by local thrift boutique Good Style Shop. General admission is free but hardcore thrifters can buy tickets for early bird access to the goods.

Saturdays starting April 13, from 6:15 am - 1:45 pm, Capitol Square

The Dane County Farmers Market recently made headlines after Top Chef Judge Tom Colicchio called it “one of the best farmers' markets in the world.” We’d have to agree.

April 19 - 21, Alliant Energy Center

The annual Midwest Horse Fair draws thousands of humans and their hooved-companions to Madison each year. The three-day event is full of clinics, entertainment, shopping, and of course, horses.

Neighborhood Markets

Several neighborhoods around Madison are hosting smaller markets this spring. Including the 10x10 Collective Market April 20 at Ellsworth Block.

On the North side of town, Northstreet is hosting an Earth Day Fair on April 20 complete with raffle prizes. And just a few blocks over, several local businesses are hosting a pop up market in the parking lot of 222 North St. the same day.

April 27, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Madison Public Library's Central Branch

This annual festival celebrates local and regional artists, writers, print-makers, and advocates.

Apr. 26, 5-9 p.m., Breese Stevens Field

The outdoor night market, now in its eighth year, features vendors from local businesses, food trucks, and more.

Latino Art Fair

May 3 from 5-9 pm. at the Common Wealth Gallery, and May 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Overture Center

The Latino Art Fair has expanded to two days this year. The event is a celebration of culture and Cinco De Mayo with musical acts, arts, and more.
