Whether you’re looking for meals, adventure, or more places to support, Madison has a lot of LGBTQ+-friendly establishments from which to choose. These are some of our favorites.

For Food and Drink

Located on King Street, WOOF’S is a popular gay bar in Madison. With different specials every day, this is a quirky spot to grab a drink with your friends.

Herbiery is your next stop for a brewski — and you have 10 different options. Made without hops, the flavors are nothing like you have ever had before. The founder of Herbiery Nia is trans and uses they/them pronouns, and they believe that beer without hops is an extension of their queer identity.

There’s an unfortunate shortage of lesbian bars in Madison, and this pop up is looking to change that. We spoke to co-organizer Sara Akawa about their lineup this year.

Have an Adventure

What better way to enjoy the warmer weather than enjoying the shore? There are public and private booking options available, six days a week through Oct. 20.

If dancing is what you crave, look no further. Featuring a huge dance floor and rotating nightly events, there’s something for everyone.

For the Shoppers

There might have been riots if we didn’t include a cheese-centric option, and this is one of our favorites. You can satisfy your cheese cravings online or in person, or have them cater that party you’ve been meaning to plan. They even have classes!

For those days when you’d rather lose yourself in literature, the wonderful folks at this independent bookstore have you covered. And keep an eye out for special events and book clubs.

Treat your loyal companion to snacks and a spa day at one of EarthWise’s two locations. They also have self wash stations for the DIY pet parents.

Which ones did we miss?
